Meet Chef Danny: The Vision Behind Yarumba

Miami has officially recognized the culinary brilliance of Chef Danny Manuel Peñaló Dominguez, a true ambassador of Dominican cuisine. Through his participation in the Dominican Gastronomy Festival and high-profile events with Miami New Times and Chefs of the Caribbean, Chef Danny has been instrumental in putting Dominican flavors on the map.
At the heart of his success is his role as Executive Chef at Yarumba, Un Reto al Paladar, one of Miami’s most celebrated Dominican restaurants. His innovative take on traditional dishes has not only elevated the local dining scene but also helped position Yarumba among the top-tier high-end dominical restaurants in the U.S. Here, he masterfully blends tradition with creativity, crafting dishes that honor the island’s rich culinary heritage while pushing boundaries. The Hungry Black Man has hailed Yarumba as the best Dominican restaurant in South Florida, while David Muir of Island Origins Magazine has ranked it among the finest he’s ever experienced.

A Culinary Journey of Dominican Heritage

Beyond the kitchen, Chef Danny has represented the Dominican Republic on some of the biggest stages, including the “Taste the Islands” event, where he joined esteemed Caribbean gastronomy ambassadors to highlight the evolution of the region’s cuisine. His culinary prowess has also earned him a spotlight at events like “Spice It Up Miami”, and he proudly secured second place at the Miami Gardens Food and Wine Festival. You may have even caught him sharing his passion for food on Despierta America and Un Nuevo Día.
